About CSA

Christian Steward Academy was established by husband and wife couple, Carl and Marites Crittendon.

Carl Crittendon and his wife, Tes, are devoted partners in ministry and co-founders of Christian Steward Academy. They are deeply dedicated to their faith and the field of education. Their happiness grew when their daughter, Candace, was born. Her name, derived from the Meroitic term for Queen, reflects their admiration for the Ethiopian Queen mentioned in the Book of Acts in the Bible (Acts 8:27, NIV). This Queen is renowned for spreading the Gospel and leading her people to Christianity, ultimately saving numerous lives. The Crittendon family has happily called Texas home for the past five years, with three of those years spent in the charming town of Bastrop.

Carl, a native of Lone Star, was raised in a Baptist household and is an ordained Southern Baptist Minister by Immanuel Baptist Church in Sulfur Springs, Texas. Currently pursuing seminary studies at Truett Seminary in Waco, Texas, he brings a rich background of eight years of service in the United States Army Chaplain Corps and ongoing service in the National Guard as an Officer. He gained extensive experience instructing and leading youth groups during his military tenure. Rooted in a family legacy of education and professional ministry, Carl obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Carl also serves as the Headmaster at CSA.

Tes hails from the Golden State, California, and was raised in a Christian household. She relocated to Texas with her family to establish their roots. Tes earned her Bachelor of Religion and Biblical Studies from Liberty University and is working towards a PHD in Religious Education. With 20 years of experience, she has served the church in various roles, including as a children's ministry teacher, junior high leader, and young adult leader. Tes has also been involved in local and international missionary work and has taught Math and Bible studies in a traditional classroom setting. She is an elementary teacher and administrator. She also serves the community as a Girl Scout Leader.
